Stock Exchange 100- Share Index started a day on optimistic note up 490
points. After a positive start that saw the KSE-100 index benchmark took the
bears out and the political noises get unsound for some period. Despite the
notice issued by Court to PM about adjourned for two weeks about Panama issued
the bull took the benchmark 100- index to high at 41,600 points; at the end the
benchmark 100- index surge by 621.81 points or 1.25% to close at 41,545.95
levels. Swift activity witnessed in the market as turnover settled at 561
million shares as compared to 506 million shares in the last trading session.
Shares of 411 companies were traded, at the end of the day 283 stocks closed
higher, 114 declined, while 14 remained unchanged. The value of shares traded
during the day was at recorded the level of PKR 13.3.25 billion increased by
58%.
Bull
remains active in capital market; major activity witnessed in Commercial Banks,
Power Generation and Engineering sector. In Banking sector, BOP, HBL, MCB remain
the Shining star throughout the session and appreciated their value by
4.87%, 2.09%, 1.71%. In Power Generation Sector, JPGL, KEL, HUBC improved their
value by 1.18%, 1.55%, 1.35%. Moreover in Engineering sector DSLR, PECO
depreciated their value by 0.77%, 5.00%, while INIL appreciated their value by
4.45%.
Active
list was topped by BOP with 68 million shares as it closed at PKR 18.30 with a
positive change of PKR 0.69. DSLR was the second highest on the volume chart
with 49 million shares closed at PKR 3.88 with a negative change of PKR 0.06.
It was followed by JPGL with 42 million shares closed at PKR 6.96 with a
positive change of PKR 0.69, PACE with 31 million shares closed at PKR 11.77 with
a positive change of PKR 0.74.
Today
major trading activities were recorded in Commercial Banks Sector as it was
traded above 102 million shares followed by Power Generation & Distribution
sector which recorded the volume of 74 million shares whereas Engineering
sparked at 3rd place by trading above 74 million shares.
Highest
increase was recorded in the shares of Nestle Pakistan, which rose by PKR
200.00 to PKR 8000.00 per share; followed by Rafhan Maize, that improved by PKR
150.00 to PKR 7850.00 per share. Major decline was witnessed in the shares of Bhanero
Tex, which fell by PKR 43.25 to PKR 821.75 per share; followed by Ferozsons
(Lab), dropped by PKR 39.64 to PKR 850.41 per share.
Kot
Addu Power Company Limited announced its 1QFY17 result for the period ended Sep
